The olives that Apollo gave to Sicily
According to legend, the first Italian land to receive the sacred olive tree was Sicily, thanks to Aristaeus, Apollo’s son, who introduced olive farming and taught the local people how to process the fruit. The Nocellara Etnea olive is grown on the slopes of Mount Etna and is a tasty olive with a slightly elongated oval shape. Green in colour with a hint of yellow, its flesh is crunchy and substantial.
Serving suggestion
The Green Nocellara Etnea Olives are unmistakeable and delicious fruits that go perfectly with aged and spiced cheeses, cured meat starters, or to accompany a toast with a full-bodied wine. In recipes, they can be used to flavour pan-fried vegetables.
