Sicily, the first olive tree in Italy
According to legend, the first Italian land to receive the sacred tree was Sicily, thanks to Aristaeus, Apollo’s son, who introduced olive farming and taught the people how to process the fruit. These olives would be cut, crushed and seasoned with oil, spices and a spicy sauce.
Madama Oliva, by treasuring its historic experience and combining tradition with technology, enhances their crunchiness through careful processing and recipe development.
Serving suggestion
These olives have a Mediterranean aroma and flavour. They have a strong, bold flavour that is perfect for pairing with aged and spiced cheeses, cured meat starters, to flavour pan-fried vegetable dishes or to accompany a toast with a full-bodied wine.
