Olives loved by the Romans
One of the various theories on the origin of this olive tells that it was born from the “orchites” olives of the Romans and that the troops of Rome used to take them with them on their long journeys. They went to Puglia and throwing the kernels on the ground at the end of a banquet, they gave life to the cultivation of the beautiful of Puglia. It is the largest table olive in the world considered indigenous to Puglia.
