Apollo’s gift of olives
According to legend, the first Italian land to receive the sacred tree was Sicily, thanks to Aristaeus, Apollo’s son, who introduced olive farming and taught the local people how to process the fruit.
Harvested early, the Nocellara Etnea Olives from the Fresh Line are cut, crushed and seasoned during processing with oil, spices and a spicy sauce then garnished with whole chilli peppers, so that everything comes together in a unique, slightly bitter array of flavours.
Serving suggestion
Seasoned with oil and chilli pepper, its flavour is enhanced by wild fennel and other spices for an incredibly Mediterranean taste.
These fresh olives are perfect for pairing with aged and spiced cheeses, cured meat starters, to flavour pan-fried vegetable dishes or to accompany a toast with a full-bodied wine.
